Stools
Made from oak and ash using traditional woodworking techniques. The legs are split from a log then shaped with a draw knife. The slab used for the top is milled from durable oak and is set to last a lifetime.
Our furniture has a timeless aesthetic. Known as staked furniture, the legs are mortised through the seat and wedged, a simple yet robust joint that has stood the test of time over millennia.
Our stools and tables are designed to be highly versatile items of furniture. An extra seat for adult or child, a step to reach high shelves, a perch to stoke the fire and a small table to seat a drink. Use as a stand for a plant or speakers, the possibilities are endless.
At fireside woodcraft we source all of our wood from a local nature reserve. By processing our products from the raw material we can select pieces of wood for their unique beauty while being able to guarantee they are locally sourced and sustainably harvested. We are passionate about the sustainability of our products and aspire to have a positive impact on the environment around us. We use predominantly hand tools and traditional green woodworking techniques in our home workshop. We are always experimenting in new ways to take sustainably sourced wood and traditional techniques and apply them to products that belong in the 21st century.
